I Love My Uncle Buck

Dave's brother RC and his fiancee Jessica flew out from Chicago to visit Noah this weekend. He loves hanging out with his Uncle Buck!

I Got Shot

On Thursday, Noah had his two month check-up and immunizations. He is now 13 lbs. 5 oz. and 22 7/8 inches long. At his last appointment, he was in the 40th percentile for weight & the 90th for length. That's flipped now - he's in the 85th for weight and 40th for length!

He did well with his 4 immunizations - 3 shots & 1 liquid. He screamed at us for awhile and then went to sleep for the rest of the day!

Look At Me, I'm 2 Months Old!

Java

I must admit it: I'm now hooked on Java's Bowl of Soul. Since I can't have milk, chocolate, or many of my other comfort foods, this has become my new favorite: a "decaf Bowl with whip." I love it!

Dave's Happy Thought

Last weekend, Noah & Marley fell asleep with Dave on the couch. He said it was an amazing feeling, with his son on his chest & his dog at his feet. That will be one of his happy thoughts for a long, long time!

Noah's Voice

Noah has recently found his voice: he loves to coo and "ooh" and "ah" at us now. I absolutely love it! He spends many happy hours lying on his back, talking to us. He does it most often in the morning - Dave & I usually fight over who gets to do the first diaper change of the day!

Eight Weeks

Last weekend, Noah celebrated being 8 weeks old by going to his grandparents' houses for the weekend. We had a great time:

- On Friday, Noah & I went to Ketchum with my sister Heather. It was a beautiful, chilly fall day in the mountains and Noah & I had a lovely time walking around & window shopping.

- Early Saturday morning, Noah was wide awake & ready to go (the early hours are his favorite!), so Dave, my parents & I took him garage sale shopping for the first time. We didn't find much, but we especially enjoyed the stopover at Smith's for treats!

- Our friends Kevin, Fernette & their beautiful kids Kelsey & Kelton came to visit Noah for the first time. Kelsey & Kelton were so good with him - he loved just gazing at them!

- My Mom visited Australia years ago & brought a didgeridoo back for my Dad. Dave got it out & was "playing" it for Noah - it was quite the concert!

- We spent Sunday & Monday out at the Jones farm, and Noah & I rode in the chopper with Papa Jones for the very first time! Noah loved the machine's purr - he was asleep in seconds! We may have to do some more John Deere babysitting sometime!

- You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff we packed for this weekend adventure. We looked like we were moving in! I continue to be amazed at how long it takes us to get out of the house (2 hours this time!) and how many things we need.

Seven Weeks

It's been an eventful week! Noah had another fun bath, took his very first bottle (Mommy coached & Daddy did such a good job!), got serenaded by Michael Spengler before going to the Hyde Park Street Fair, read the Hungry Caterpillar, and found his hands (he loves licking & rolling his fists in his mouth).

Our good boy Marley has recently begun to be a bit jealous. He tries to get in between us and Noah, and likes to spend lots of time lying on us.

NFL Sunday

Noah had a great time watching NFL Sunday last week with Daddy. Go Colts!

Meeting Friends

When Noah was 6.5 weeks, we finally got to take him to the Boise Friends Church (we had been out of town every weekend prior). Everyone was SO eager to meet him! Pastor Gil welcomed him during the service, and Pastor Shawn placed a beautiful red rose on the lecturn in celebration of our little gift from God.

After church, we hung out at the McConaugheys with a whole bunch of folks, and I snapped some pictures of Noah and his perfect little red rose. Unfortunately, he decided that moment to first exercise his grasping reflex, and he got quite upset when he grabbed the part of the stem with tiny little thorns...ouch!
