12 Month & 9 Month Appointment Stats

Noah had his check-up & immunizations today. Here are his 12 month stats:

Weight: 22 lbs. 12 oz. (50th percentile)
Length: 30.75 inches (80th percentile)
Head circumference: 18.88 inches (89th percentile)

So he's tall and lean! He's definitely thinned out since he started moving - he goes & goes & doesn't stop!

And since I forgot to post them before, here are his 9 month stats:

Weight: 21 lbs 4 ounces (60th percentile)
Length: 29 inches (72nd percentile)
Head circumference: 18.5 inches (89th percentile)

He Speaks!

And Noah's first word was... "Da da da!"

Dave called me at work this afternoon to tell me that he picked up Noah, and Noah looked right at him and said, "Da da da," and then proceeded to tell him a bunch of other stuff in Noahspeak (ba ba ba la la...) We're calling this the official 'first', though Dave is certain he called him 'da da da' last night, too...

How cool is that?!

CONGRATULATIONS, DAVE!

It's official: Dave is a Licensed Professional Counselor!

He received his letter & license in the mail this week. He was actually out of town & his Mom was here visiting to help with Noah. Susan & I were pretty certain that the big manila envelope meant good news, so we surprised Dave with a "Congratulations!" dinner upon his return.

Dave is so excited & I am SO proud of him - this is the culmination of many hours and years of hard work in school, practicum & internship. Way to go, my Love!

My Week With Grandma

Dave's Mom has been here this week to help with Noah while Dave was in Tampa for work. Noah has had a great time! She snapped some great pictures - I'm amazed how much he looks like a little man. He's not a baby anymore! (How is that possible?)

Time To Break Outta Here

(July 9)

Baby Jordan

(July 8) My mom gave Noah an adorable Air Jordan outfit & hat!

I Love My Present!

(July 7) Noah was very excited about receiving his 1st basketball hoop from his Auntie Alison & Uncle Austin (they gave him his birthday present early since they were visiting from CA).

You may be noticing a bit of a basketball theme in many of their gifts - Austin is a basketball coach for the Vanguard University men's team.

Just Like Grandpa

(July 6) My Dad has a large collection of Hawaiian shirts. He often wears them to church - he leads worship & his festive wear has been admired & commented on by many. Noah decided he wanted to join his Grandpa one Sunday!

First Guitar

(June 28) Noah loves music, and really enjoys all sorts of musical instruments (he recently entertained us with a lovely ditty on the piano). Don't worry, Daniel Sngiem - maybe the violin will be next!

Great-Grandma Redman

(June 27) Noah & Grandma, relaxing outside of the pool!

Happy 11 Months!

(June 26) Noah was ready to celebrate!
Every month since Noah was born, his Auntie Heather has given him a gift. And every time, it has come wrapped in a little Noah-sized gift bag (she said that was the rule: it always had to fit in one of those). I had to get a picture of Noah's very last month-birthday gift!

Traveling in Style

(June 19) Dave & I finally got a new backpack to carry Noah in, and Dave loves it! He & Noah go on adventures at least a few times a week.

Watch Out, Sam!

(June 14) Noah loves cats. LOVES them. He usually just ends up chasing them around - they always move when he gets close - but not this time. His Aunt Jessica's cat Sam actually stayed on the floor & let Noah maul him. Noah was all up in his business: he grabbed handfuls of fur, kissed Sam, and eventually laid on top of him. It was amazing! Sam ended up fleeing the scene, and Noah was left with a heavy coat of white fur. It was a sight to behold!

First Watermelon

(June 14) The rind works great for teething! And Noah is sitting in a highchair with history - his Great-Grandma Burkhalter bought it for her grandchildren 45 years ago. Wow!

That's Amore!

(June 10) This kid LOVES spaghetti!

The Baldies

(May 31)

Someday, I'll mow the lawn just like Daddy...

(May 30)

Look what I can do now, Mom!

(May 28) So needless to say, our bathroom doors stay closed now (or we'd have absolutely no functional toilet paper rolls!)

Big Boy Bath

(May 27) Noah's first time in the bath seat - he loves being able to play in more water with more toys!

10 Months Old!

(May 26) Goodness, do I love this kid - and this shirt!
And I had to include this other picture, too - Noah has been doing this adorable licking thing since he's been teething. He flips his tongue off of his lower teeth and makes a crazy sound, and we caught it on camera!

What, Mom?!

(May 26) There's nothing better than playing in the refrigerator...

More later...

I've been through 150 pictures so far & am taking a little break now. Enjoy!

Stand Up, Stand Up

(May 24 & 25) Noah started getting quite comfortable pulling up on everything (and since he was teething, he thought he might as well eat the baby gate, too!)

Give a dog a bone (or some baby food)!

(May 23) Mars totally has this feeding thing figured out!

In Jammies With Grammie

(May 23)

Play On

(May 22 & 25) Noah loves playing guitar with his Daddy!

It's Not Easy Bein' Green! (aka Little Nakeds, Part II)

(May 21) Rub a dub dub, too big for the tub...

In our attempt to save water, we kept using the little baby tub as long as we could. But it became pretty evident that we'd have to switch to the big-boy-bath soon, when we could barely put any water in with Noah at all!

Can I fit through here?

(May 21) Noah loves crawling through tight spaces. Under the coffee table, through your legs, behind the couch, between the chair & the wall...but he sure doesn't like getting stuck!

I am too cute!

(May 21) I continue to be amazed at how much Noah is starting to look like a little man. Thanks to Auntie Heather for the adorable threads!

Stay Off of the Grass!

(May 19) Noah loves being outside, but he's not a huge fan of grass. In fact, to get this picture Dave had to plop him down in the middle of it - and he immediately lifted his left leg to keep it off of the prickly stuff.

He does it every time: body hits grass, left leg goes up. This kid must have serious ab muscles!

Spring Training

(May 17) Noah started working on standing by pushing up on Dave (who was lying on the floor). He then got brave & started shuffling around him!

Thanks to Auntie Alison & Uncle Austin for the adorable outfit & 1st basketball!

Mother's Day!

(May 11) My husband is really cool!

For my first Mother's Day, Dave & Noah gave me an amazing gift: a handmade storybook (complete with a chocolate handprint from Noah) with pictures & information about an adventure...to see James Taylor in concert in Salt Lake City!

We have third row tickets for the concert in August, and I am SO excited - I've wanted to see JT for a long, long time! Thank you, Madas!

First time in the refrigerator!

(May 10)

Cheerios!

(May 3) Seriously, these boys could be an ad for Cheerios. They both go crazy over them!

I can use a fork!

(May 2) Noah's first time feeding himself with a fork. I spear the banana & he grabs it!

Duke? Kansas?

(April 28) I'll set the record straight - we root for Kansas in this house. But Dave has long been a Blue Devils fan, so when Noah's Auntie Alison made a trip to Durham, NC, she absolutely had to pick up a Duke T-shirt for Noah!

Where to start?

Seriously, this is going to be next to impossible, to tell you about all of the amazing things that Noah is and has done in the last 2 months. And the pictures - I think there are almost 300 that I need to wade through! So bear with me while I share at least a few highlights...

(I'll list the picture dates at the beginning of each post.)

Yikes!

So I haven't posted in almost two months. Horrible! (But such is the life of a mom who spends most of her days away from work chasing an 11-month-old.)

I have way too many pictures to share, so I'll get a few new ones up here soon. Many apologies to all of you who have checked here time and again, only to find old pics of Noah in clothes that don't even fit him anymore...

Check back again soon. He's cuter than ever now!
